You've launched a great thread, Pawny. Really gets in your head and rips a responsive chord. My first post was tongue in cheek. This one

isn't. My high school junior and senior summers on Cape Cod were a dream... working construction during the day; Leaning Tower of Pizza

and Kreme & Kone for charbroiled burgers; fried clams and lobster rolls at the Wee Packet; cruising chicks along Route #28, Hyannis to

Chatham; memorable beach parties at West Dennis and Dennisport's Sea Street Beach; meeting Leslie White of Dick Clark's 'American

Bandstand', dating both weeks both years; later invited to her home near Philly. If you're still out there, Hon, I remember our promise.

I miss the Annual Hot Air Ballon Fiesta, hundreds of bright ballons up all at once in a bright blue sky.

"For 38 years of my life, the best Pizza Aug 7th, 2005
I am nearly 59 years old and have been enjoying the pepperoni pizza here whenever I am in the area.."

Is he sure that's pepperoni he's been eating?!

Though my wife's maternal lineage was of British Royalty (Moore) she could prepare all manner of Italian Cusine fit for a mafia don. Since

her passing six years ago, January 9, 2003, I've been reduced to finding suitable supermarket alternatives for a number of favorite dishes.

Good news is my discovery of "Alessi All Natural Marinara Pasta Sauce" imported from Italy. Thanks to pear shaped Sicilian tomatoes, extra

virgin olive oil', onion, sea salt, basil and care with which the sauce is prepared it's awfully close to those in some of the great restaurants

in the USA Northeast. Imported here by Vigo Importing Co., Tampa, FL. Website: www.vigo-alessi.com. Runs about $5.00 for a 24 oz. jar.

I miss being able to get to a violin maker without travelling a day. I also miss all the concerts, museums etc., and the greater choice of food, especially fresh vegetables. However, on the whole I feel I am much better off now.

I miss the way my home was before a man moved in, stayed for 5 years then became my ex. But I'm working on making it mine again and removing all trace of him - started the other week when I gave all his clothes away on Freecycle website! 😛

He didn't take his clothes with him?

Only a few things. Everything else is going on Freecycle. That's my favourite way of getting rid of unwanted items - shame I couldn't have put him on there a long time ago, but they don't allow livestock 😀

I live in a better state now, more rural and clean and scenic. People are kinder and more patient.

I get back very often but I do miss Massachusetts in some ways. In rb style:

I miss the funny accents.

I miss the straightforward "don't *bleep* with me" attitude.

I miss my old friends and the short drive to see them.

I miss being closer to Boston and all its culture and fun.

I do miss the many local beach choices.

I miss carnivals in the summer, even though they're gross.

I miss the store being 2 minutes away.

I honestly can't think of a single thing I miss about the area where I grew up. It never felt like home - just a place where I had to bide my time until I could get the hell out.
