What is chess?

I have been studying philosophy at university for 3 years now, and I ask myself 'what use are
games?'
I came to the conclusion they are a waste of time, so why do I find myself playing lots of chess?
Is it a game?
Is it a bird?
Is it a plane?
Who knows!!!

Yes...indeed...is it a bird, is it a plane...no, it is the game of ages,
called: CHESS!!
If only every "WAR" could be sorted like this!! I sigh!!

If you dont know what use games are, someone has been playing
games with your head honey. Everything doesnt have to be reality to
be useful. Chess may not be reality, but it can be useful. ;>

reality is a game in itself. the uniqueness of that game is that its
palyed by the pieces, not by superiour beings (called players).

Do you enjoy playing chess? If you do, It is something to do to relax
and have fun. If you don't enjoy it, why do you play it. John

only people with masochistic tendencies or an urge to self destruction
would play a game they dont enjoy, I think perhaps he enjoys the
game and is confused as he has convinced himself its against his
better judgement. but then Im told by experts on here that all chess
players are crazy. Is this so? wish I knew for sure lol. xxx ;>

Babe, I can't speak for all the chess players. I know one is a bit gone
off the middle line. :-)
