Now tell us why...
(I agree, am interested in your take on the difference between geek and nerd.)
We Geeks say, "screw your suits, your wine tasting, your caviar and your classics, that doesn't define the character of your personhood, it's a mask. We know all about those things, but we're the real us, we enjoy them without using the pretension." This is sexy and liberating.
Nerds say "I also understand all this, but I'm not very good at getting it across, I feel out of place in crowds and I have no time for the aesthetical nature of fashion or popular culture." This is not sexy.

Dweeb is a temporary insult and not a label applicable to a group for a prolonged period. It reflects one's distaste at the actions of a Geek or Nerd for exemplifying their geek(nerd)iness in the face of one that is not part of either group.
Hot.
