General

I have a cat and Russian tortoise. I also had a beta fish but cleaning its tank became a chore.

The tortoise and cat a relatively low maintenance, especially since the cat prefers to relieve itself outside. The tortoise is a cute little guy who eats lettuce (we feed him romaine). We've tried to feed him other vegetables and turtle food but he's very picky, like a toddler who only likes mac & cheese. He's about 4 years old but they typically live to around 40 yrs.

I'm a little suspicious of your Russian tortoise, although it would probably make a good novel.

We are currently petless after losing our cat a couple of years ago and lingering for now in rented accommodation. (Where keeping pets isn't an option). Looking to buy again and a cat or dog is definitely on the cards.

I have a border collie. She’s lots of fun until she gets tired when she becomes grouchy & growly.

Nice. Would love to have one of those, but fluffy dogs are not comfortable in this heat. I see lots of people around here getting these types and I bet the dogs hate it.

Used to be a dog person some years ago. Cats are fun too. Amazing hunters they are.

I have 30 or so fish and some of them are bottom feeders and scavengers. Plus some snails will help keep the tank clean.

Do you count the snails as pets? πŸ™‚

Nah ... Good one. Got about 50 of those, and the fish eat some. They reproduce like rabbits.

Mine is long coated. She came from a dogs home, it took a muzzle and 2 people to groom her and there’d inevitably be a scratches from a dew claw. I found her a bit calmer to groom on my own and introduced carrot sticks through her muzzle. Last spring, out of frustration, I managed to use a scissors to cut out a golf ball sized fur ball with a burr in it that had been tangled in her back leg for 8 months. This year I can groom her without a muzzle πŸ™‚ but she’s banned from my local vets πŸ™who can’t get near her to give her her annual booster. She now goes to the vet hospital where she gets sedated snd restrained by a few nurses for it. She’s a fabulous dog!
