In the long run, you should not base your decisions on what hot girls want, as much as anything, these hot girls will not respect it, and may well treat you as a play thing; what you really should do is grow it to a length that you would like, and find a girl that likes you as the same as the way you like to look yourself.
Shaving is also a good idea, unless you can grow a decent amount of facial hair in like a day or two, best not to let it grow much at all.
