To be more serious, today I was giving cello lessons in a classroom (6th grade), and there was a test lying around. I skimmed it out of interest and found two spelling mistakes or typos in the questions (it wasn't a very long test, and as I said, I only skimmed it). If the teachers can't spell themselves or don't bother proofreading their own texts, how can the students learn to spell? It seems to be an international phenomenon. My sister told me similar stories from her sons' school in Brussels (which otherwise seems to be a very good school).
