And am I the only person who finds them absolutely terrifying?

They can hardly fly they're built so stupid. They bump about and bang into things, buzzing like a mosquito. They even flutter in front of the blood monitor (causing me to lose my manly cool and run around the room screaming like a pig on fire).

I've heard they're the most poisonous insects in Europe, but that they can't prick your skin. But just imagine one managed to? I mean, you're forever hearing about these insects adapting to the environment. Maybe one day these poisonous things will learn to bite us? And we'll all die of daddy-longlegs vemon.

What we call daddy longlegs don't have wings , they're like a spider . What are you talking about , those kind of orange things that look like giant dopey mosquitos ?

Oh these ones aren't orange. They're a dull brownish colour.

IT'S BLOODY ATTACKING ME!
And from behind.

These things have brains and tactics. I'm sure of it. It's looking for a soft spot to try to poison me!

In general.

But on this subject as well. I've always called a large, brown spider a daddy long legs. They have really long legs, and a small round body that's elavated from the earth substantially. I've heard that they were really poisonous, but their teeth aren't long enough to get through our skin. Perhaps that is just a confusion with the kind that you're talking about. They seem so harmless, and look funny when stepped on.

No these are definately insects with very long bodies and 6 legs.

EDIT: and very large wings!

Aren't they incredibly poisonous, but unable to bite us? Or is that something else?

Edit: No. I looked it up.

I've never seen one fly, or seen one with wings. I still don't believe you.

EDIT: Back me up on this one Moldy.

EDIT 2: They may be an insect that just looks like a spider, but they definetely can't fly.
