Are you using any antivirus software. also is your memory shared with your video? and is your hard drive partitioned? check these things out as well.

Others things to consider, proper installation of parts. If your computer has 2 memory cards and one is loose or not installed properly, it may have to be reinstalled.
As for the Hard Drive. how many does your computer show it to have?
2 at 70gb each willgive you the numbers you are looking for. More than likely 1 hard drive is partitioned evenly to give you the split.
If all this fails. then someone may have either installed the wrong components in your computer, or mislabled it. With it being a new computer, you may wish to take it back and exchange it for a new one.

Im probably going to get my dad to take it back and have it swapped. But I got some screenys here. dont know if they show anything useful but...
http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload2/pics-kyi.zip
One is of my firewall (just to show that i have one so I know its not hackers)
One is of FreeRam. Its as program that frees up ram/shows you how much you have.
And the other is my HardDrive. It is called "partition_1" but theres no other HD there called partition_2 or anything like that
If noone can help ill just give up 🙁

WTF???????????????????????????
check what my comp has to say? Do you see only a C drive then
cd/dvd stuff or do you see a C drive and a D drive THEN the cd stuff?
Thats what a partitioned drive would be like, two partitions.
The CD drive would be the D drive if you only have one partition.
and E for the DVD if you have one.
Call up the C drive and open it. See if the files are really gone.
You may need to run something more than check disk, like
Norton utilities, its disk doctor. See if you can borrow one from a
friend or maybe even buy one. Also go to this website:
www.cgsecurity.org
This guy has the free holy grail of test disk9, if you can figure out
how to use it and you really have a problem with the disk, this
prog might fix it, it does stuff like fix the master boot record and
other stuff, works from dos because windows won't let you do that.

Take the PC back to the store. Get a replacement.
Quit acting like a spoilt child.

them in to the BBB, or use that as a threat to goad them into
giving your money back or providing you with a real Gig of ram
and an upgraded HD.
Don't just blow up on them till you contact them, it may have
been a stoned shipping clerk just mis-boxed a lower grade box.
Contact them for sure, at least hear their side of the story.
Originally posted by Santa DrummerChill out tell your dad you never noticed untill now.. theres no need to start arguments isn't your dads fault nor yours.. and you can't take it back now anyway since tesco isn't open.. you just need to wait few days and phone them.. they may just say bring it in and we're swap it over.. so all this arguments is worthless.
