I thought it would be quite interesting to pool as many of you guys' IQ as possible just to prove that collectively we chess players are probably the most intelligent board game players around! I'll get the ball rolling with my own which according to the official MENSA test is an impressive 156.

I once did an IQ test and the result was 96.
Admittadly, I had used more drugs than the average touring funk band and I was downing pure vodka as I made the test.

Still. You can't use drugs as an excuse.

People that go on about their I.Q.s are losers.

I've never been measured.

I'd like to think I'm somewhat above average, though this is based entirely upon the large number of nincompoops I encounter ...

Where do I find out? Mensa.com?

And how we are more intelligent as a group than other people, I stand by my statement, we'd just be a group of losers then...

My I.Q. is 136 btw.

My initial reaction was going to be: 15 cm's.
But, then I thought... na... I'll probably be ridiculed for that...

Great stuff! I wonder if MENSA ever considered the following?

"In addition, IQ tests like the Wechsler were not intended to reliably discriminate much beyond IQ 130, as they simply do not contain enough exceptionally difficult items. (2)"

(The Wechsler test is the standard IQ test model, btw.)

I laugh at people who claim their IQ is greater than 100. How can you possibly score higher than 100%?

I'm perfectly happy with my 83.

I guess we were overdue for our monthly thread about IQ and chess.
