When is Thanksgiving day each year? In the U. S. A.

It is beyond me though how Americans can have turkey the last of November, then again for Christmas on December 25th.

How come some friends of mine & myself always remember it being the 3rd Thursday of November?

My birthday happens to be the 23rd of November.

I clearly remember it falling on Thanksgiving every 4th year.

Now, it's like every 7th & not consistent. What happened?
