I went snorkeling In a place called moalboal in the Philippines, it's famous for having a lot of sardines. Thousand and thousands of them swimming around, it's quite a sight. They stink though. Tasted good in a BBQ I have to say.

I have ate lots of smelts/sardines but wouldn't care for any that stunk, something wrong with them.
