They’ll make a stupid mistake like I just did.

Ever worked out a good move then dragged a piece into place only to realise that you released your finger too soon - after you’ve pressed Submit?

I'll let you know sir when it happens.

And the step just before that when you see the game slipping away leaving you no chance to win, but not yet totally lost to you. Then I shift over to 'draw at any cost' mode, especialy looking for a 3-fold repetition. People expect you to make reasonable moves and rarely see a claimed draw, so your piece(s) sacrifice and repeated checks/moves may go unnoticed for what they are until you pocket the 1 point.

... then it's time to convert to Roman-Catholic faith.

There are no innocents.
It is kill or be killed.
Good plan by moosy.
Especially effective in over the board play with the clock ticking.

I think; I mustn't swear or make a fuss; there are many good and more important things in my life which more than compensate for losing a game of chess, and my loss is somebody else's gain, and maybe they don't have a life which is as good as mine.

Then I swear anyway.
