Hi everybody

I was just wondering what people's thoughts were on the bishop and knight, regarding which is the better piece.

Would I be right in assuming bishop's are worth 3 points and knights are two points?

It is almost entirely a preference thing and how well you can use them.

I read somewhere that Knights are reported to be best in a centre focused endgame, whilst Bishops preferable where the Pawns are on either side of the board and the centre is open. It's all about Mobility apparently.

At the end of the day though, I guess most importantly it's down to the quality of the player pushing the wood about though.
