I'm 50% Scottish by birth and my surname is old Scott too. I first went to school in a little place called Kilbarchan and spoke with a broad Glaswegian accent until moving to Devon when I was 6. I have fair skin with blue eyes and when I had lots of hair it was light brown, almost blond. I claim to be English, though I have no idea why.

Scottish despite the Swiss name I use as my handle. Some Cherokee chromosomes mixed in, such that I take a tan in the summer.
Mother's branch came west across US via Ohio. Father's branch funneled through Cumberland Gap and west across US via Arkansas.
"I fell inta water that come plumb up to my neck and I like to froze to death, doncha know," would be the sort of thing you would hear at family reunions involving the Arkansas and Oklahoma kin folk. 😛
