Clemens is doing a great job for the Astros... too bad he got Shelled by the American League in the AllStar game......

I would never admit if I like Jeeter. 😲

The best is John Paciorek (brother of Tom and Jim Paciorek)

He played one game for the Houston Colt .45s (later the Astros) in 1963. He had three singles in three at bats, plus two walks. He scored four runs and had 3 RBIs. That gives him a 1.000 lifetime batting average and a 1.000 on base percentage. Five plate appearances and was never retired.

ooooh! did you see that run and dive into the stands he made a couple of weeks ago to catch a fly?
He made the catch, though he had to get several stitches. Clements is great as well!

I'm not really sure. He must have gotten injured somehow. A very short, but productive career.

But it wasn't as short a Larry Yount's career (Robin Yount's brother). He made one appearace as a pitcher but was injured during his warmup throws and never played again. So he officially appeared in one game but never threw a single pitch.

There is a great book about the greats of the early 1900s in baseball: The Glory of Their Times. Any baseball fan will really enjoy it.

That is the day I changed my mind about Jeeter! Garciapara is a wuss, used to think he was better.

That was an incredible play, wasn't it! I don't think many players would have even tried, let alone made that catch.

I reject Christy. If he is who I read about he choked in playoff games.

He didn't! look him up. He was considered a leader by his teammates. The younger players looked up to him. He was always a gentleman. He was an honorable man. His pitching was legendary. His carreer ended tragically when he volunteered to fight in WWI. He was accidentally gassed by his own side and his lungs were permanently damaged.

Perhaps he is not that player I saw in a baseball history book. If he is then he has tons of loses in the playoffs. He choked when it counted the most. The Saint Louis Cardinals lost their best team ever to world war two. Thanks a lot Germany and Japan.

Sandy Koufax, Albert Pujols, and of course Ted Williams

I would say Sammy Sosa, but how the hell do you get injured sneezing?

do you think sammy will ever escape the corked bat insident though. no matter how many home runs he hits people will always remember this. even as he joins aaron ruth bonds and mays in the elite 600 home run club people will always place an asterix by his name in the record books.
