I bought myself a SS Smith @ Wesson 500 mag revolver....that's in 50 cal. Can't wear it on my hip because it causes my drawers to fall down around my ankles. Maybe i'll just keep it in my safe.

Really? What ya gonna use it for, hunting dinosaurs? I was in a gunshop awhile ago and saw a revolver in .454 Casull Magnum that made me sick because it had a snub-nose barrel...... terrible thing to do to a cartridge like that, handicap it by making the barrel so short.

Well, err, ahh. I own 120 acres near the fingerlakes in NY state. Ive only seen a bear up there once in 25 years, but i convinced myself that i was going to be eaten alive by one. It was only a matter of time.
The only protection i had was a 357 mag. but it only had a 3 in barrel. I have two 45 long colt revolvers....the kind Custer used, but they are much too beautiful to shoot. I wouldn't trust a high capacity 45 cal semi not to stove pipe or fail to feed when a bear was charging at me.
The indians had a name for the black bear that means Coward, but i just needed an excuse to by the gun. She's a true work of art! Makes by heiny tingle.

"While the gun is large, it is not cumbersome, and carries well in a good across the chest holster. "

Probably would carry even better in a wheelbarrow.

The really sad part about the whole thing is that i couldn't afford a box of ammo. The $1100.00 broke the bank...$60 for a box of 20 rounds. My birthday is coming up in Feb,...Hint!

Better start reloading, it's too expensive to shoot factory ammo.
