Not at all.
I read Da Vinci before A&D and it made no difference to me.
Except that it made me think A&D really wasn't that well written.
Of course, maybe because both The Da VInci Code and A=d had that inside betrayal, so I wasn't as impressed when I saw the The Da Vinci code, it was the same thing.

First I'll say I liked both stories. Did anyone else find the writing style stumbling and choppy? I almost put A&D down because I didn't expect a good story out of such simple writing.

Pick up a PG Wodehouse book. Once you've read one you've read the plot for the next 30, nevertheless, the writing is fabulous.
