i played it when i was like 8 but only once or twice. i got it for christmas from my dad because we always play games with strategy but chess has kind of taken a back seat because he can't beat me ne more. so now hes kicking my butt at stratego but i won a couple against him. my friend and i are into games like chess and i got him playing stratego and hes kicking my butt in some games. he doesn't win at most of the games we play but when we find a game we are pretty even at it gets pretty heated when i lose. what about you?

I've played Stratego quite a bit in the past. I was unbeatable. My ironclad defense was impenetrable. The lamentations of my vanquished opponents would fill the air for miles around.

yeah quite a good game ,very tactical .you really need to set up your formations right ,have all avenues guarded

I used to play it, good little game: quite apart from its own merits, I think if you were going to ease someone towards chess, Stratego isn't a bad way of doing it. Actually, chess would probably be more fun with bombs, sappers and spies.

i find it very interesting because even if you lose your best piece you can still win the game. its so dynamic and simple at the same time its always fun and you always feel like you can win the game.

I remember liking the bluff aspect of it - chasing a Marshal around with a Scout for five or six moves and luring him into a bomb was always great fun.

Nobody can beat me at Stratego. I'm a GM of the game. 🙂
I'm also good at CLUE and MONOPOLY.

I used to play Monopoly... but started playing with my family and a few other friends that didn't like what I was doing....

I would strike deals with players, trade, not charge for some stuff... and the new players were like...

"Whaaaaa, you can't make deals like this! If someone lands you have got to charge them... Boo hoo... you're always winning and making the sweetest cash".

Who are THEY to tell me I can't let someone sleep at Boardwalk while I ride their rails and utilities for free!

😠 They get so angry!

I believe according to the official rules you must charge people who land on your territory, but I am not sure. I don't think you can give people free passage.

EDIT - I am mistaken.

The owner may not collect the rent if they fail to ask for it before the second player following throws the dice.

You have no CLUE as to the extent of my MONOPOLY on STRATEGO victories. You'd be SORRY you took the RISK, for crushing you would be a TRIVIAL PURSUIT.

Take that.

Since you live only 40 miles from me, I challenge you to a game of Monopoly, Stratego and Clue!

You are allowed to bring one friend and I'll invite a friend. We can meet at my place. PM me for the details.
