its cause we got nothing better to do in the USA. I mean for instance one of the biggest tourist atractions can be found in St.Louis. Its called the arch. If all we have to do is look at a giant piece of bent metal sticking in the ground, we pick up board games.
(nobody comment on this it was just a joke)

Yeah, but that's only because in England it never stops raining long enough for a complete game of chess.
anyway ...
i think ...
indonesians play a massive ammount of chess ... if this was about chess playing energy then indonesians should be here in huge nimbers ...
either the indonesians have a site of their own or they cannot afford the connection fees for the net ...
americans can afford it.

I read somewhere that chess is booming in India (population c.900 million) and taking giant strides in China (population 1 billion +) yet 4 years and over 500 games later I have yet to play against or be in a tournament that contained anyone from either country. The subscription fee may not be a graet drain on the resources of the average Westerner but in many places in the world its the equivalent of a weekly or monthly wage. From a personal point of view, if there was a different,ie lower, subscription which was applied to those less economically able, I wouldn't have an issue with this. If it adds to the diversity of the site, I'm all for that.
surely that means they should play indoors on the net.
