oh yes, the cliched 'projecting' line. that's just 'i know you are, but what am i?' using slightly longer words.

what now: you'll smite me with your +2 magic sword?

Not really, simply the more than obvious statement that you have no idea what I am like and all your reflections upon what you think I am supposed to be come only from your own preconceptions.

Since you find the stereotype to be fitting, then it is also obvious that you conform to it. I know several people here who don't.

Logic, not childish retorts. Can you see the difference?

You implicitly stated you were one. I previously explained where you gave yourself away.

Do you want me to dumb it down for you?

yes, in my dreadfully serious opening post, i implied that correspondence chess players are nerds, and i am a correspondence chess player. clearly, any comment i am making i am making about myself as well as others. big deal. is that all you're on about?

what is telling here is your total over-reaction. lighten up. don't take yourself so seriously. and don't worry if you like nerdish things like correspondence chess and reading Pessoa (and playing d'n'd).

You confuse taking myself seriously with amusing myself with your inadequacies. Don't worry, you're not the first.

It's a sad fact that some socially inadequate people need coping mechanisms, like thinking socially active people cannot possibly like chess or even be intelligent. Are you one of those?

this really IS a serious issue for you isn't it? that speaks volumes.

did you get called 'nerd' a lot in school? that would explain your extreme sensitivity to the issue.
