I have an old laptop I'm trying to install Windows on, but I no longer have a copy of the Windows 98 startup floppy.
Would any of you good people have one you'd be willing to e-mail to me?
Many thanks in advance.
Martin.

Or rather the contents thereof.
If you have it, I'd be very grateful.

Lol, how technology has moved on.
My laptop is so old that after installing Windows 2000 from CD, it promptly refused to believe a CD-Rom drive was attached.
I tried again with XP and even an old NT4 CD.
Each time they installed from CD and then denied its existence, hence the need to go back to Win 98.

Thanks for the thought about eBay or shop.
I think that's the route to take.

If you can find someone else with a Win98 machine, you can get them to make you a new start up disk. I can't remember the exact procedure, but I think you use the format disk tool and select 'make startup disk'.

Yeah, I remember that.
But I can't for the life of me think of anyone I know who still runs Windows 98.
Poo.
