Dunno if you are serious but if you are you could try with the Taskbar unlocked, look for faint, vertical probably dotted lines (the separators, which also might be a solid bar) around the Quick Launch bar. Drag the line on the left back up near the top of the Taskbar, next to the Start button and drop it there. 🙂

ps; you could do a system restore rather than reinstalling.
It doesn't bug me enough to do a system restore as I am sure I have installed some apps since it happened.

Ok.. the only other thing I can think of is if you set it to "auto hide" until you get it fixed.
Right click on bar/properties/check the box for auto hide. Then the taskbar will disappear until you point at it with the mouse [cursor]and show until you move away again. 🙂

Thanks, you have been valiant, but I like it visible. I now throw it back open to other experts: *toss...*

The solution is quite simple actually.

1. Right-click on the taskbar and unlock it (if you haven't already).
2. Grab the vertical dotted line on the second row (moving the cursor above it will change the cursor into a double-arrow).
3. While holding the mouse button move the mouse upwards towards the first row, and ta-da...

You can pay by Visa. If you need pictures I can take a few screendumps for you, but that'll cost extra.

Please don't thank God for that. So, what's your Visa number?

Going by the original post he had already tried the simple solution and it didn't work.
Ah well, nevermind. 🙂

No, I think you said to drag the separator next to the QL bar.

I somehow made it two lines high and I can't drag it back down without completely hiding it.

Sorry, I thought you meant by this that you had tried the normal method, ie dragging etc.

Main thing is, it's ok now hey? 🙂

I made mine 2 lines high to see how to fix it and as long as you've right-clicked and unlocked the task bar you should be able to drag it back down and relock it.

Now taking hedgehogs in drag to the bar, that's another problem that I can't help you with. Unless of course that's your lifestyle or preference...
