I was just wondering how many people use other people's wireless internet access?

I do all the time (I live in central London and have a choice of unsecured networks to choose from) - it's great! 🙂

Can you explain that in more detail? In other words how do you do that?

You need to have a wireless-enabled PC...

I figured you might want to start there.

Dummies forget to enable their security, so allows people to steal their bandwidth and costs them cash!!

Well, that's about all there is to it. Your wireless-enabled computer detects all the networks in the area, and if they are unsecured, you can simply connect.

Of course it's not legal you moron. You're using someone else's service without their knowledge or consent.

Well if it is illegal and I am not doing it how is it that I am the Moron? What I was wondering is why is it so easy to do? It looks like someone would block it.

Because some people are stupid enough, or know so little about internet security that they don't bother protecting their wireless network properly.

So what you are saying is everyone is stupid if you steal something from them. And it is their fault if you steal. So they should be fined maybe? Or go to jail? You're the Moron.

Hotels are very stupid too.

Anyone can park infront of a hotel with a laptop and work off of their connection.

Awwww.... baby's got a temper :'(

Not having any security for your wireless network is comparable to leaving your car unlocked and with the keys in the ignition. It's something that people can take advantage of very easily and needs to be protected.

Do you want to jump to any more idiotic conclusions, or have you had enough of making yourself look stupid?

Apparently they often forget to change their administrator password as well, so you can change their password and lock them out of their own connection.
I think they might suspect something if you did that, though.

Even if the keys were in my car and the doors wide open it still doesn't give you the right to take it. But that wasn't the point anyway. And yes I know that people will still do it. It is obvious I do not have a wireless connection. And asking questions about something you don't have is not stupid. It just seems to me that to steal bandwidth shouldn't be that easy. What kind of range. Oh by the way I am not angry yet. You are still alive.😉 But what conclusions did I jump to?
