That's textbook aggressive/apologetic behaviour indicative of the trough portion of a female's standard mood wave. The woman you describe simply has a higher agitation amplitude applied to her sinusoidal mood wave and must thus be treated with extra care - foot rubs, chocolates, pain-for-pleasure, etc.
