The one word which I nearly always have trouble with is... prenimin..., pleminin..., pleminar..., preliminary. Phew.

So, what's yours?

i have a lisp, so pretty much anything with an s. naturally, this includes lisp and maths, which just so happens to be the subject i am studying. i now either say "math" and sound american, or go the whole hog and say "mathematics".

the hardest word for me to say though is "thesis". tis impossible!

I would have thought 'impossible' would be quite hard as well.

I sometimes think that the people who think up the words for these 'conditions' (don't know a better word) must be taking the mick. Lisp is a great example. And dyslexic is another.

That scalp condition that begins with p but sounds like it begins with s. I always say it as the word for that liver condition. But of course I can't spell either of them well enough for google to pop up a correct spelling.

Yeah this one doesn't come up often in conversation.

I took ages to learn how to pronounce the word "psychological", I kept pronouncing the p. But then, of course, English is not my mother tongue 😛
and I still don't know which syllable is stressed in "diagnosis"...

ok thx, now I can go around saying cool things like "hey, I think your diagnosis is shizoid diarrhea... it's funny, as long as nobody notices you're making no sense at all... luckily, I'm largely surrounded by complete morons.

it's "schizoid" (skits - oid) not shizoid!

And the way you've used diagnosis seems slightly odd.
'I think your diagnosis' would be better as well actually it's late and for some reason I can't come up with a way of structuring it so it sounds right and not stilted.
