I'd like to thank the Dutch for Grolsch, Nijmegen coffee shops, Edam and Gouda cheese, Delft pottery and for teaching South Africans to speak funny...

Special attention means that the defence shouldn't give away room for those players. So in defence they should be close to them and stick to them and preventing that they get the ball.
It doesn't mean that they should kick those players out of the game.
And if you do believe that, then I sugguest that you take a cold shower and think again about it.

I now don't blame any Dutch player but your coach. I think it's a shame that one of the most fair-playing and attacking teams have turned into such a side under him.
Here's a quote from the Guardian:
Scolari's Portugal are not a great team, but they know what they are doing when they go out on to the pitch, and not the least of Scolari's achievements has been the general acceptance that the team are at last capable of making their performance match their promise. Sunday night's turbulent game in Nuremberg did their image no harm at all, and a lot of people would have overcome their instinctive suspicion of Cristiano Ronaldo's stepover tricks when they saw Khalid Boulahrouz try to bury his studs in the soft flesh of the young winger's inner thigh, an act of premeditated violence that set the tone for Holland's disgraceful display.
At times choosing to fight fire with fire, Portugal were not blameless in a match whose level of mayhem rivalled that of the infamous Battle of Berne, fought between Brazil and Hungary in the 1954 quarter-final. [b]By contrast with Marco van Basten's team, however, there was a feeling that this was not the way Portugal would have chosen to play the game[b], adept as they may be at rolling around in simulated agony.

Can you blame him (in the heat of the battle), I have never seen so many players (mainly Portuguese) on the ground for more then five minutes per time in any game.
That's also an instruction from coaches and so we can go on and on.
(Only 20 -25 minutes of pure playing time in the second half!!!)
Stop whining and try to win your next game, you're focusing on the wrong thing here.
Good luck!
Love, Peace and Harmony to all of you!!!

Van Basten propably gets a new contract that makes him the coach of our National Team untill the end of the WC2010!!!
(He has a contract now untill the ent of the EC2008)
Try to keep enjoying the game and good luck!!

While I don't know what either of you are talking about, I have to say that I'm hooked now. It's a shame that they only do this every 4 years.
Check out UEFA European Championship, CONCACAF Gold Cup and the African cup of Nations for example.

I'd like to thank the Dutch national team for their display of fair-play and sportmanship.
I special shout out to the man who injured our star player in the beginning of the match and to the one who didn't gave us the ball back after the ref stopped play. Well done.
Have a nice trip.
PS: The Dutch fans are one of the best out there and I wish them well, unlike their NT.
