There was a reserve day, but sharing due to lack of play is completely different from sharing a tied game. People keep saying it was a 7 week long tournament, why not have the team who finished higher in the standings lift the cup if there's a draw or no play? That's what would of happened in the semis in a tie.

Why is that a reason for not sharing it?

It's entertainment, better tv and exposure if there's a winner imo.

I have never understood people who get excited about watching others compete.
I agree it is better to play than watch.
But if you cannot enjoy sport - you have no soul.
