Yes, the 122-yo french woman's age was verified.
It's likely this old chap was at least 117 anyway, as Indonesian records began in 1900 and he was supposedly alive then. The fact that he's outlived all 10 his offspring from an area of Indonesia well known for extreme longevity suggests he lived an extraordinary long time too. I wouldn't be so hasty as to dismiss this as BS

Emma Morano died on April 15th at age 117, the oldest person on record
146 seems very unlikely

Yes it does seem unlikely.
Jeanne Calment, a french woman, died in 1997 aged 122 years 164 days and verified by all required modern-day records. Putting aside Biblical accounts, she was the oldest person who ever lived.
I think you've been googling 'world's oldest person'. Emma Morano was the world's oldest person at the time she died (or to be more accurate, just before she died!!!).

146, ha?
Did she (I presume it was she, coz no man can survive nagging longer than 90 years until divorced and deaf) had ugly feet, no teeth and no birth certificate, and was her advice for longevity: 1 potato brandy before every meal which consisted of 3 raw eggs?

Well, in that case good riddance and thank you very much.

There is this song written by Pete Seeger: "How do I know my youth is all spent, my get up and go has got up and went? In spite of it all, I'm able to grin, when I think of the places my getup has been🙂

I'd say more power to her. And you are right: the oldest man on a verified list is number 15, with maybe 6 in the top 100.

Evolution is done with dads once they spurt, but moms are needed forever.
