Worst ending for mine would have to be The Amtrak Wars by Patrick Tilly. I had read this series over an eight year period, got to the last book and went what the?? The story ended sharply and coldly in the final few pages. I was furious.

What's so bad about a blank page at the end of a book?

I think that was from philip k. dick's 'simulacra'. it really was a bad one.

'Adam gasped. he realised that the empty but strangely familiar planet he and his beautiful companion had crash-landed on was actually Earth! Somehow they had traveled back in time! And it was up to them to populate the planet and become the mother and father of all humanity!'

Hate to say it, but John Wyndham was rather bad at ending his novels. They tended to build up all this tension and then just... fizzle.

That's one reason why I prefer his short stories, because he didn't feel the NEED to bring things to a close. A short story can end in mid-air if it wants to.

It's the ending to practically every other EC Sci-Fi comic every written.
