yes, I listed Eisenhower in the other thread, but he is considered great only because D-Day was a "success" for the Allies
we didn't have to invade there, particular with the huge successes in Italy and Northern Africa...
the Allies had other, less costly methods for taking back Europe, but he chose Normandy beach... leaves other possibilities up to the imagination...
how would history remember this general had we failed at Normandy?
