Write Protection for Flash Drives

I recently went into a shoppe and asked for a memory stick with write protect. They laughed at me and said there was no such thing. But today I see my friend has a memory stick with a distinctive slide switch on the side with the typical padlock closed open icons either side. This suggests there is such a thing.

Can anybody give me a specification or URL for such an item, preferably 16GB+ and available online (Amazon.co.uk will be best)?

Thanks

PS This appears to have the same control, but the online specifications don't say whether it does have write protect. I'm not sure, hence the post.

I had one in the past with a slider switch - it was a PITA.

Why would you want it write-protected btw?

The first USB-memory I had, a 128 MB thing, had a writeprotect switch.

To be able to upload to my website in the internet cafe (no internet at home) without viruses being written to the memory.
