Terminator 2
Sarah Connor is in her cell in the Pasadena mental institution, she’s strapped down to her bed and the door is locked.
She spits out a paper clip and uses it to free herself from the straps holding her to the bed and then she uses it to pick the lock on her cell door.
What’s odd is, why would there be a lock with a keyhole on the inside of the cell?
@divegeester saidI've been waiting for someone to bring this up!
What have you seen in a movie and thought “that’s wrong… it wouldn’t have been like that” ?
The Wizard of OZ - Dorothy is locked up in a room in the wicked witch's castle. The witch appears in a large glass ball on a table and starts saying lots of scary things to Dorothy, then the witch turns to the audience and laugh's her wicked laugh at the audience. So - When the witch does her wicked laugh, how does she just happen to know exactly where the camera is?? 🤔
The Godfather - A fine movie in its time, but contained 2 of the worst kept secrets in show business. 1. The character of Johnny Fontaine was in reality Frank Sinatra, though a good singer, the Mafia was the key to his rise to fame. 2. Woltz International Studios was in reality Warner Brothers who had dealings with organized crime going back to the mid 1930's. So - Why couldn't this movie simply tell the truth and put the correct names in it? Did they fear the Mafia? or a lawsuit by old Frank? 🤔

@mchill saidBoth interesting observations, but I’m not sure either quite fit the bill in terms of being something “wrong” in a movie, such as the example I have from Terminator 2.

@mghrn55 saidYes.
This is a thread where we identify where the suspension of disbelief doesn't work the way it should ?
Octopussy. I loved it as a stupid bit of action, but it did make me realise that they didn't deserve to be in the same series as From Russia With Love.

@fmf saidYup - USAnian gung-hoism losing the day again - but most people wouldn't realise that. Still, blaming it on the brolly-toting Limeys again does get a bit tiresome.
The blame for the failure of Operation Market Garden 1944 as portrayed in A Bridge Too Far was not sufficiently laid at the feet of Major General James M. Gavin of the 82nd Airborne Division.
@shallow-blue saidProfessional historians want to sell books in the USA, so discussing James M. Gavin's failure has been a no no.

@mchill said1) Margaret Hamilton would be a horrible actress if she didn't know where that camera was.

2) Ask Mario Puzo. Also, movie studios like to maintain their wholesome image to guarantee future revenue. Also, people could have ended up in Lake Mead.
@divegeester saidSo she could escape, duh.
