Germany has two top 100 Unis's (HEIDELBERG Universität in 59th and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in 93rd). Germany has a top 500 Uni for every 1.96 million people.

I don't see you point? Portugal has no top 100, 200 or 300 Universities but it was a very poor country, like Ireland, for a long time so there are other factors at work here. I was in Lisbon last week and very nice 😲)

Aye, seven in the Republic of Ireland and also two in Northern Ireland. This is quite a high ratio for a small population (see previous posts).
