That's funny... heaps of people in New Zealand (well, Wellington anyway) eat their wedges or fries with mayo. Usually tomato sauce, but often mayo as well.
Originally posted by dfm65In the UK as a whole, salt and vinegar on fries rules the roost. But in Edinburgh (and the surrounding towns), brown sauce is the thing. So much so that the rest of Scotland often calls it "Edinburgh sauce". Tomato sause is there for those who want it but except at burger shops, its rarely used.
A Dutch friend of mine tells me it's common in the Netherlands to eat fries with mayonnaise - which is pretty much unheard of in Australia - is it a common practice in Belgium too?
Thanks everybody for the reactions on the Baked Potato question. I apprecate it.
...... and by the way, here in the Netherlands ánd in Belgium we eat fries together with mayonaise. Try it ..... nice and creamy .... yummy.
You can eat all kinds of sauces together with French or Belgian fries.
I met an American who ate mayo as a sandwich spread, nothing else on the slice of bread .... he told me lots of people do this in the States ..... is this indeed American Quisine ? 🙄
