Your Favorite Movies of All Time

***** "A Little Romance", 1979, with Diane Lane and Thelonious Bernard in their first movie and Sir Lawrence Olivier in his last (just a short time before he died).

***** "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", 1975, with Jack Nicholson and Louise Fletcher (my beloved Nurse Ratched of RHP GF fame, prophetic as HandyAndy knows).

***** "War Games", 1983, with Matthew Broderick, Dabney Coleman, John Wood and Alan Sheedy (which I'm watching, or at least trying to, as I type).

**** "Terms of Endearment", 1983, with Debra Winger, Jeff Daniels, Jack Nicholson and Shirley MacLaine (adore Shirley and Jack's ride on horseback along the beach).

How about a few of yours.

'Drugstore Cowboy' with a cameo by William Burroughs is up there. I saw that 25 times at least.
'The Matrix' for sci-fi, although Star Wars is still pretty enjoyable.
'Fight Club'
'Eraserhead' - took me a while to warm upto that one!!

And basically movies with good soundtracks. Including the quality of the voices, not just the music and choice of songs.

I can watch something like 'The Pick of Destiny' by Ten D about 40 times because of the soundtrack.

Wargames? I liked that when I was 14 but does it still stand upto repeated views?

Just finished watching "War Games" earlier this evening. In my opinion it still refreshing, especially being deprived of viewing any

movies at all from December, 2010, until April, 2012. Maybe it's primarily a matter of learning to avoid taking things for granted.

Sweet , i can get into the spirit of that. in that sense it doesn't really matter what the movie is so much , does it?

I just really wish they had've had some chess sequence that the computer had to work out instead of that stupid tic-tac-toe sequence at the end.... but hey I have fond memories.

I dont have tv so I only watch dvds. There are numerous reasons for this not the least of which that our tv connection just doesn't work. Apparently the government are going to fix it next year.

Whenever I've sat down to watch something at a friend or family members place who had tv lately I've straight away noticed the ads and I realized why I had gone off TV so much in the first place.
Really the ads are just too much. Even on pay TV, which I may consider if there weren't ads DURING a programme, but there are, only one or two less 😛

I would like to add a few more films (all of them British):

"The Remains of the Day"
"Elizabeth" & "Elizabeth - The Golden Age"

"Paint Your Wagon" - The only musical I have ever truly enjoyed. Also one of the few movies that is worth watching more than once.

Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood singing. Who would have expected that! Each time I watch it I find humerous moments that I missed during earlier viewings.

If you've never watched it, give yourself a treat!

On Golden Pond

Das Boot

It changed my view of war from "good guys vs. bad guys" to "men vs. men".

I consider that such a valuable lesson I've explained it to my son on several occasions.
