1994 Monte Cheval, Vranac Special Reserve.

Used to be able to get 2 bottles for a fiver in Safeways when I was a student, the last two I bought I kept in the hope that they will have improved with age (as per the note on the label).

I have a feeling it could be good for cooking with...

Edit - Otherwise Wolfblass Yellow Label is not bad value for money. I also bought an Organic Red the other day, tasted at the weekend and it was nice (if pricey at a tenner a bottle).

Chateau Cantemerle 1995 ideally, right now bordeaux from the local shop and if I don't stop playing chess all day I'll have to start making do with Ribena and Meths...

Favourite ever is a 1985 Medoc from the Chateau Margilles vineyard. Unfortunately its very hard to get and too expensive for my budget. Instead I like the yellow label Cabernet Sauvignon from Wolf Blass, the Tarrango from Brown Borthers and when I feel like spalshing out for my own personal pleasure trip, a Château Bastor-Lamontagne 1999 Sauternes.

At the moment Tesco are selling a Corbieres Reserve 'Ancien Compte'
at half price - £3.99 instead of £7.99. It is a very good buy.

Oz is far better at producing reds than whites...... you want NZ for whites.

Any south australian red is good, penfolds are an excellent winery and if you can afford their grange you will be in heaven (and possibly bankrupt).
