1994 Monte Cheval, Vranac Special Reserve.
Used to be able to get 2 bottles for a fiver in Safeways when I was a student, the last two I bought I kept in the hope that they will have improved with age (as per the note on the label).
I have a feeling it could be good for cooking with...
Edit - Otherwise Wolfblass Yellow Label is not bad value for money. I also bought an Organic Red the other day, tasted at the weekend and it was nice (if pricey at a tenner a bottle).
Favourite ever is a 1985 Medoc from the Chateau Margilles vineyard. Unfortunately its very hard to get and too expensive for my budget. Instead I like the yellow label Cabernet Sauvignon from Wolf Blass, the Tarrango from Brown Borthers and when I feel like spalshing out for my own personal pleasure trip, a Château Bastor-Lamontagne 1999 Sauternes.
