Found a game in a shop for £4.99 that combines 2 things I always combine. Alcohol and chess. Seen it before but as it was so cheap thought why not.

Going to have a chess drinking competition now but...
1.
Do you think you take a piece and drink it or
you take a piece and your opponent drinks it?

2.
How about more alcohol in pieces to represent piece value,
ie use a medicine cup and put 1 measure in a pawn but 9 measures in Queen. Or same in all?

My idea is winner stays on table and looser stays on floor.

The rules all stay the same only if you take a piece you have to drink its contents.

If we were to play that I drink when you take a piece then you would end up playing losers chess against me mate! I like chess but I sure as hell like drinking too. 😀

Material values is a good idea. Works very well if you drink a finger or two fingers of beer per pawns worth of materiality. It can sometimes turn into a game of two halves after the queens come off and you have to down your pint. 😵

Beer...
Would take ages to get drunk maybe pawns with beer in and pieces with spirits in. Glad u think measures would be a good idea. Singles in knights and bishops, doubles in rooks and tripples in Queen? For taste mixers ok.

gee I know it that you have to drink when your opponent knocks one of your pieces out... damn funny too 😉
if you play this way, then it's same amount of alcohol in every piece 🙂

my sugesstion:
black: coca cola with rum
white: sprite with tequila (alternatively, you could mix orange juice with wodka... it's not white, but it tastes better ;p)

If you had 1 shot in each piece that is 16 shots if you clear the board and then mate your opponent (drink the King on mate).

A spirit bottle (70cl) is 28 shots of 25ml.

Should help you judge what to use - good luck! 🙂

Sorry mate - I am not explaining myself at all well.

I don't have the drinking set. I have a normal chess set. This is the deal:

Both players start with a full pint of beer.

When you take a pawn you drink a finger of beer, bishop 3 fingers worth etc. A finger of beer is a measure given by putting your hand along side the pint glass. About 8 fingers worth in a pint.

Start the clock and play a series of 5 minute blitz games. Trust me - you will be leathered pretty quickly.
😉
