Be sure to check out the original Zatoichi (Blind Swordsman) films (26 or so, I think). I've seen about the first 8, and Kitano's remake/homage. They are all fantastic.

i didn't relise there was a series - me and one of my friends rented zatchi, and it was ...weird...especially the ending. but bit when the guy draws his sword and cuts his friend by accident is classic though!

i will check out some of the others.

thought the end of this one was great - evry film should finish like that (apart from ROTJ which tried and failed!)
