Why did the NFL FiXL the Superbowl, and why do we watch anymore. It's just like when I was a kid and that guy with the elastic bands in his grill told everyone wrestling was fake.

We didn't believe it at first. Next we didn't want to believe it. And it was true.

Even better was the line one of the ESPN heads had about football being a game of passion. Piss off! It's a game of commercials. Rugby, soccer, cricket: those are games of passion, played for the love of the game, not the endorsements.

But officiating has become atrocious since they've had the instant replay net to fall back on, often making calls with the expectation they will be challenged.

At least this will make the freakin' NFL buckle down on the officiating and replays. I never got why it was only one referee who looked at the replays, and not at least a few of 'em... There had never really been a completely awful officiating job in a Super Bowl. Dozens and dozens in regular games, plenty in playoff games, but never a Super Bowl. Just hoping some good will come out of this damn debacle.
