there are exactly 10 minutes between each move.

the moves which are still in the opening book are instantaneous, so are moves where mate is in site.

for some reason it took 2 hours to analyse the moves against capa - i do not know why.

he has not always been playing like this, when you drew against dscp it was probably a combination of human and computer that you played against.

Hmm, i can't say im convinced. are you sure he doesn't play at work or something. Perhaps he thinks for seconds about a move but does something else for ten minutes between moves? If you look how many games he plays at once you'd have to wonder how practical using a computer is. Someone with 200 games simply can't use fritz for every one. It would be a complete chore to skip from game to game, waiting for the analysis, moving on to the next game, etc. I think he should have the benefit of the doubt.

the human dscp is probably at the park, thinking about going straight to the pub.
the human only checks up on the computer every few hours or maybe even days!!!

the dscp computer is at home ALONE (or at work alone for the weekend).

the computer does it ALL on it's own.

How does the computer get the moves? does it log onto RHP on it's own, check the pgn of all the games, analyse them and upload the moves all by it self?

Are you suggesting that he has writen a program that can navigate through RHP? One which does this, loads the moves into another program, then uploads the moves, all in ten minutes?

    yes

and just to clarify my position yet again:
this is a valuable contribution to the rhp community,
    noone has complained.
    dscp plays good fast chess.
    please do not ban dscp.
dscp has played hundreds of games and been a part of our chess scene.

I don't think you realize just how ridiculous that sounds. No offense, but to write such a program would take an immense amount of time and effort. If he had written such a program, why would he stop using it in our game? I would hazard an educated guess that fritz would not accept moves from another program as it has no functionality built into it to accept moves from another program.

mmmm, a friend of mine was doing this on fics last century.

is it any more difficult this century?

(but i doubt it is him, he was taking time calculating opening moves)

Firstly, I just want to make it clear I'm not accusing anyone of cheating, I'm just commenting on the technical aspects of what has been suggested above.

You are probably correct when you say that Fritz has no functionality to accept moves from another program. What I suggest is that it is possible to design a "front end" with these abilities that has an interface to a chess engine. That way one could use an engine such as Crafty in your own, custom-built program.

has anyone ever noticed a lack of messages from dscp when he/she/it moves?

    - perhaps preferring to message later on?

if you look at dscp's move times you will notice that dscp last slept for just 4 hours about 28 hours ago - pretty good going!

(games in which dscp or dscp's opponents have moved since will not show, leaving these spaces, dscp probably played lots of moves during those 4 hours - russ will have the move logs.)

    august 30

a talented individual has worked hard and spent money to set up dscp,

    we don't pay for it,
    we get another top opponent,
our site gets paid for it!!!!!!
    LET DSCP KEEP PLAYING!
