I'm glad I'm young enough to live through it.... Why can't there be two winners after, say, 3 rounds?
@UnrulyQueen saidThat would mean a re write of the rules of the site.

You and you opponent could just stop playing and agree not to time each other out.
The tournament would remain unresolved which would amount to the same thing.
I'm not sure how long it would sit there before Russ removed it
@venda
I believe it's worth revisiting the rule. It seems fair to me that if two players have genuinely tried for three rounds to settle a game but still end up with a draw, they could both be declared winners. This approach recognizes their efforts and the balance in their skills. I support this idea and would advocate for its implementation.
@UnrulyQueen saidYou will need to state your case in site ideas.

I know Russ looks on there from time to time
@UnrulyQueen saidI don't see how you could possibly declare two winners after 3 rounds. Perhaps a draw at most, but that would be changing the rules again as Venda said.

I believe I have went 5 rounds one time, and ended up losing. I gave it a hell of go though against a stronger opponent which eventually showed it self with their win. 😉

@Very-Rusty
On GameKnot.com, when two players complete three rounds in a draw, they share the title—so it’s clearly possible. I don't see why we should have to put so much effort into grueling endless-matches, only to lose due to a technicality, a timeout, or a simple mistake. Besides, do we really want to keep playing these tough matches until we're well into our 90s? 🤓
@UnrulyQueen saidI know all about Game Knot I am Co-Captain there and have been playing there since 2007. I do know how they do it and indeed they will give a cup to each person who wins first place, as it has happened to me many times.

Here is set up differently and you would not play up until your 90's if you are fortunate enough to live that long. Someone would eventually Blunder or Time Out as Russ said. Besides if you are that equally matched, why not play it out until someone wins. It has already been suggested on Game Knot in the Captains and Co-Captains Forum.

@Very-Rusty
Fair enough.
I would play you on Game Knot, but with your rating I wouldn't stand a chance! 🙂

@UnrulyQueen saidAre you @UnrulyQueen on Game Knot? You may be able to show me where I went wrong in my Game or Games if you play more than one with me.
@Very-Rusty
I'm sure you're just a little rusty that's all... But yeah, challenge me 👍
