Please bear with me, the question is at the end.
There is an interesting "puzzle" in my newspaper this weekend.
It's from an actual game and the question is "white's best move" so it's not a "checkmate in n" type puzzle I could put in the puzzle section.
Apparently Stockfish found the best move eventually and a human came up with the same answer after several hours of analysing with the help of a computer!!.
I think some on here would be interested.
Question:- is there a way to post the position in a thread without having to work out and insert the FEN manually? where I may make a mistake
What I need of course is an empty board where I could place the pieces and then simply "get fen"
I thought there was a way to do this but on analyse board there is no "get fen" option and in the puzzle section there has to be a checkmate at the end.

@venda

You can use the FEN viewer / editor right here.

Fen Viewer

(This is available from the "Community" menu)

Set up your FEN, then copy and paste here.

[ fen ] *fen here* [/fen]

So, "rnbqkbnr/pp1ppppp/8/2p5/4P3/5N2/PPPP1PPP/RNBQKB1R b KQkq - 1 2
"

[ fen ] rnbqkbnr/pp1ppppp/8/2p5/4P3/5N2/PPPP1PPP/RNBQKB1R b KQkq - 1 2
[/ fen ]

Remove spaces, of course, results in this :

[ fen ] rnbqkbnr/pp1ppppp/8/2p5/4P3/5N2/PPPP1PPP/ ...[text shortened]... rse, results in this :

[fen]rnbqkbnr/pp1ppppp/8/2p5/4P3/5N2/PPPP1PPP/RNBQKB1R b KQkq - 1 2[/fen]
Thanks Russ.
I didn't know about the fen viewer.
Will probably try it later.
