even though its only 5 games played and 4 won, I am not able to BELIEVE, starting from 1200 can JUMP up to 1541, with an average Opp rating of 1277 at this rate I will be a GRANDMASTER in a short time

I am sure I have gone through the FORMULA, via EXCEL, and I only get 1224

Well, it is correct.
I don't really want to go through all the specific of how it is calculated because I think that is answered in the FAQ and in several other posts.

The easiest thing to do is just to keep playing and when you get to 20 games you will find that you have an accurate rating. Until then, your rating will be erratic.

Try reading the FAQ again.

I asked the same question only 3 weeks ago.

I didn't read the FAQ either.

Initial ratings seem to be very erratic but I guess you've got to start somewhere and they eventually seem to settle down.

I think the formula is the same used by FIDE for ELO ratings. Am I correct someone?

Kind of like a self-help referral service.
