Do I have to click move in order to save my written notes ingame?

I believe so. I generally make my move, jot down my notes and then click move. Doing this I have not had any problems.

On my games, when I write notes all I have to do is click on "save notebook changes" irrespective of who's move it is, or whether I move or not.
