Did you accidently switch off the notifications?

If that isn't the problem, it's possibly yahoo.com. They often kick real emails into the trash bin. May help if you whitelist this site.

I assume you me switch on/off notifications:-
Go to home/my settings/notification settings/edit.
There's 3 tick boxes in there.Tick or un tick the ones you want.
I use yahoo and have never had a problem
