I'm sure this has been answered before but I couldn't find it,

and the FAQ doesn't state how to go about it.

So how do I promote my pawn?

Once the pawn hits the back rank your are then given a choice as to what to promote to.

I think that you have to submit your move before being given the option

The first step is to get the pawn to that back rank though ...

I think that recently it was changed so that you get the choice before you hit the move button, but I could be wrong.

Well ever time I submit the move,

It denies it and draws red squares.

And I cant find where you can specify the type of promotion

Oh well...

are you sure you're making a legal move? you could be in check, or the pawn could be pinned to you king....

If it is this game:

http://www.redhotpawn.com/gameanalysis/boardhistory.php?gameid=3255868

then you are currently not allowed to move that pawn.
You should figure out why all by yourself though.
