Could anyone tell me where to find out how the ratings are calculated, points awarded, etc.

There's a useful rating chart in Thread 80000 as well.

I remember when the chap listed below disappeared a few of us wondered why ( I'm in same clan ), his ratings obviously plummeted given the astronomical rate he'd attained...he had hundreds of games ongoing and I note that your game with him was one of the first to time out, hence the full 12-1300 points difference would 'supposedly' be observed when making any calculation.
The crux; you were robbed of a few points lol !!

He was rated 2316 when I timed him out, so I got the maximum possible 32 points for the win. And of course I lost zero points in the other game where he naturally demolished me! 😀

lol...as you say it should certainly have been 32, but the graph does indicate 2316 down to 2292 after your game...he lost 24pts. Perhaps I'm missing something, other than the maths 😀

I went from 1079 to 1111, according to my graph, that's 32. His graph shows a drop of 24 points, certainly, but remember that rating chart is only accurate up to 2100 or thereabouts.

I had no idea about the 'graph accuracy'...it just seemed somewhat odd in that he 'apparently' lost 24pts whilst you gained 32. It's got me curious as to that accuracy element, I can't find anything published as to why and how...

    From the FAQ.
New Rating= Old Rating+K*(Score- win Expectancy)
K is a constant,32 for 0-2099, 24 for 2100-2399 and 16 for 2400 and above. In other words when you reach 2100 each game has less effect on your rating and it drops again when you reach 2400.
