I still have not heard the details about how to go about setting up a University Chess Tournament. I would like to begin setting this up by Christmas to have it in place by the beginning of next year.

Hi, I really like playing chess, and I think I´m good at it, but I know there are some techniques or ways of playing that I could use, but as a beginner I would like to study it, but I don´t even know where to start from... can you help me?

chess books could help or even training sessions in: for example chessmaster, fritz,... I'm following lessons in chessmaster and it improved my skillz a bit but I still have a long way to go. At least now I have a basis on which I can build.
Once you have a good knowledge of basic principles in chess I think it's best to play lots of games against different opponents and analyze them, so you know why you lost or won them.
