Won the game, lost points

I just checkmated TigerX, I was previously on the fairly modest scare of 1382, when I checkmated him my rating went down to 1378. Fair enough he wasn't rated highly, but isn't it strange that I can loose rating for winning?

I played and won a game today against Smoltz game 2139528. He is rated 1429 and me 1326 at the time of the win but our respective ratings stayed the same. Did you have any answer for your query from the administrators?
