This is a continuation of Thread 104421.

PAWN RIOT has just sent 19.g5, leading to the following position:

He said 19.gxh5 did not look right "in any way shape or form."

" I will have to start giving this game some serious thought from here on in."

Now the real battle begins !!! πŸ™‚

Edit: I should have looked at the board first. πŸ™‚

We really don't have all that many choices.
It seems as though we must move the knight. πŸ™‚

EDIT: 19. ... Rb8+ followed by 20. ... Ne8 looks logical, albeit I'm not sure whether we should play it?!

If we agree that the knight belongs on e8, then we should play Rb8+ first.

The problem with the suggested move 19. ... Rb8+ is just 20. Ka1 Ne8 21. Rb1 and White has "compensation for his extra material" πŸ˜›

    For now I vote 19. ... Nh7.

Nh7. I also vote for resign if that's an option.

Here is a bit of an idea.
Nh7, followed by Rb8+ followed by Nf8 and then Ne6 - how do you like them apples?

i thought white would have tried to open the h file for his rooks, but apparently not! can i ask in all seriousness where the knight is going after e8? regards Robbie.

problem is that we can never have any "secret plans", as Pawn Riot can easily view this thread and see our moves. Anyway, I haven't fully made a decision yet, but I am leaning towards Nh7, primarily because Rb8+ 20.Ka1 followed by Rb1 seems to leave black foundering, though Pawn riot can play Ka1 and Rb1 at any time- then again, Rb8+ and then Nh7-f8-e6 would definitely be much more active, which is something to consider in positions like these..

PAWN RIOT said he wouldn't look.
I doubt that he would agree to the game and then go back on his word.
I assume you hadn't seen that in earlier threads.

Just quickly, I don't think we should be overly concerned by this Ka1/Rb1 combination. I'd still be worried as white about the long diagonal and how to effectively break (all!) the pins.

We just side-step with Rc8 and continue re-routing the knight (from h7 or e8). I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can help a bit more concretely.
